Ruben Amorim may have just THREE GAMES to save his job as beleaguered Man Utd boss is handed similar ultimatum to predecessor Erik ten Hag

  • Amorim faces Man Utd axe

According to The Mirror, Amorim effectively faces 'three games to save his job'. While the ex-Sporting CP manager is said to retain the 'full backing' of United's hierarchy for the time being, it is understood they will 'assess the situation and the trajectory of the team' after their next three fixtures, when there is another international break in October.

Amorim could get Ten Hag treatment at Man Utd

The report adds that despite privately insisting they still have faith in Amorim, United's football leadership team gave the same assurances to his predecessor, Erik ten Hag, before pulling the plug on the Dutchman nine games into last season in October 2024.

  • Grim reading for Amorim at Man Utd

United have four points from four Premier League games this season and sit 14th in the table. The 40-year-old has won just eight of his 31 league games since taking charge last November, with some players said to be losing confidence in his system.

What next for Amorim at Man Utd?

Despite the aforementioned reports, other publications suggest United may hold onto the Portuguese for a while longer, as it would cost a lot of money to sack him inside the first year of his Old Trafford contract. The Red Devils face Chelsea, Brentford, and Sunderland in the coming weeks, and if they don't get any positive results between now and their trip to Liverpool on October 19, Amorim could be gone.
