  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    WHAT PHIL PARKINSON SAID

He said, via The Athletic: "All we can do is get the operation done as quickly as possible and give him the best rehab going forward. What we’ve been told is the surgeon, when he has a look inside, will understand the extent of the damage more so they don’t want to put a timescale on it until the operation. But it will be months with George."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

While this is a blow for the Red Dragons, Evans has not been a regular in Parkinson's side this season - with just one of his five League One appearances being as a starter. Moreover, they are still second in the table and are in an excellent position after nine matches. Despite that, losing a player to injury is never a good thing.

    WHAT NEXT?

Wrexham will look to return to winning ways in League One on Saturday afternoon when they host lowly Northampton Town at Stok Cae Ras, before taking on Wolves' Under-21s in the EFL Trophy three days later.
