    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The drama around Dani Olmo's transfer to Barcelona last season is still fresh in the fans and players' minds. The Spanish midfielder was eventually registered in August after the season had started, due to Andrea Christensen being ruled out with an injury. The player remained registered until December 31st, after which he once again went out of Barca's book. After a legal battle with the Spanish football council, Olmo was registered back into the team.

Barca president Joan Laporta remains confident of triggering the release clause and signing Williams this summer, while complying with all the demands of La Liga and Financial Fair Play. However, La Liga president Javier Tebas has warned they are in no position to register him.
