Man Utd fans finally have some good news! Red Devils agree deal to sign popular loanee from Lyon following Mary Earps departure and training ground controversy

Per The Guardian, United have triggered the option to sign Malard on a deal until 2027. Malard was on loan at United last season, scoring five goals in 19 games off the wing. The news comes after Mary Earps made the decision to leave for Paris Saint-Germain, just weeks after the club's women's team were forced out of their training base to make way for the men's side.

Malard was part of the United side that won the FA Cup last season, beating Tottenham in the final at Wembley. She has won 22 caps for France, scoring six goals, and her deal does not include an option for extension.

United endured a disappointing season in 2023-24, finishing fifth, 20 points behind eventual winners Chelsea. Given that they had finished as runners-up the season prior - just two points off Emma Hayes' side - it is unsurprising that they are looking to bolster Marc Skinner's ranks.

Malard is already used to her surroundings but will hope to hit the ground running ahead of the 2024-25 season.
