  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The England international has been nursing a long-standing physical ailment since 2023. He suffered a dislocation back then, with said problem never being given the time it required in order to heal properly.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Bellingham has been playing through pain as a result, with a special support strap having to be worn when taking to the field. The 22-year-old has had enough of that, with it revealed at the FIFA Club World Cup that he would be heading under the knife.

  • WHAT BELLINGHAM SAID

Said operation has now taken place, with Bellingham starting out on the road to recovery. He has said in a social media post from his hospital bed: "Thank you to Andrew Wallace & Susan Alexander, their team and everyone at Fortius Clinic for the surgery and hospitality. To Ivan Ortega and Dr Leyes for travelling to support. And finally, to everyone else for all the well wishes and messages of love. The process to come back has already started, see you soon."

  • DID YOU KNOW?

It has been reported that Bellingham faces three months on the sidelines. He will not be rushed back into action, with it important to avoid any setbacks, with a return to training being mooted for mid-October.

  • WHAT NEXT?

If that were to be the case, with match fitness having to be built from there, then Bellingham will miss the start of La Liga and Champions League campaigns with Real Madrid in 2025-26 while also sitting out England’s upcoming World Cup qualifiers and a friendly date with Wales.
