    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Gomez has been a massive player for Miami this season, with the Paraguayan establishing himself as an important piece of the Herons' midfield. Gomez's energy has been vital, particularly due to the age of the ex-Barcelona stars surrounding him in the team.

The Herons, though, look set to deal with another injury. Eight players were ruled out of Saturday's clash with Nashville, including starters Jordi Alba, Sergii Kryvtsov and Robert Taylor. Midfielder Federico Redondo is also still out of action while youngster Benjamin Cremaschi is only just returning from his own injury absence.

  • WHAT TATA MARTINO SAID

Speaking postgame, the Herons boss spoke on the younster, revealing details into the situation.

"What we saw was he had an ankle injury. We want to see if it's just a twist or if it's more serious. His ankle was swollen and he had pain, but we can't make assumptions [without a scan.]"
