'Immensely happy' - Man Utd star Lisandro Martinez and partner Muri Lopez announce they are expecting first baby together

The happy couple announced the news on Saturday evening. Martinez and Lopez shared two photos on their Instagram pages: one featuring a baby scan and the other with their dog, as they prepare to welcome a new family member.

Martinez wrote: "We are immensely happy that you came into our lives!!! You are the reflection of the long road we have travelled together, of each step taken with care, with conscience and with patience, but above all with love, that love that now brings us even more love! Thank you for choosing us!!! They love you with all their soul... Mom & Dad.

"And of course, the puppy with the purest heart in the world is also waiting for you eagerly!"

Several of Martinez's team-mate congratulated the couple on their announcement. "Congratulations bro", Alejandro Garnacho wrote, with Joshua Zirkzee and Kobbie Mainoo sharing the same message.

"Let's go!!" added United defender Diogo Dalot.

The centre-back will be in action on Sunday when United take on Aston Villa at Villa Park. The game could have huge implications for the Red Devils, with Erik ten Hag potentially losing his job if he can't bring three points back to Old Trafford.
