  • Lost 'respect' in the dressing room
  • WHAT HAPPENED?

The former Red Devils forward feels that the England international has lost "respect" in the dressing room at Old Trafford, having been stripped of the captaincy last summer, and says leaving the club in the next transfer window should be a "no-brainer" for him. Yorke also suggested that the former Leicester City defender should consider Unai Emery's Aston Villa as his next possible destination.

  • WHAT DWIGHT YORKE SAID

Speaking to OLBG, Yorke said: "Harry Maguire might see it differently and he's entitled to, but I think him leaving Man United is a no-brainer. His respect in the changing room would have diminished. Maguire would be a good fit for Aston Villa. Aston Villa is a big club and there is a certain way Unai Emery will want to play and there might be a player he has lined up already that we don't know about. Maguire should be the option for Aston Villa to look out for."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

After losing the club captaincy to Bruno Fernandes ahead of the 2023-24 season, the 31-year-old was linked with a move to West Ham as the Hammers reportedly wanted to sign him. However, a deal never materialised as Maguire was unwilling to take a pay cut and move out of Old Trafford.

In the current season, the England star has played in 23 matches across all competitions, including 16 Premier League appearances. He has scored twice and provided as many assists.
