  • WHAT HAPPENED?

FC Dallas have hired Quill as their next head coach, the club announced Wednesday. The former New Mexico United coach has held various positions around USL, but never coached an MLS club. He previously oversaw the USL League One side North Texas, which operates as an affiliate for the MLS club.

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Dallas has been in the hunt for a new head coach since it parted ways with Nico Estevez in June 2024, and appointed assistant Peter Luccin as interim manager until the end of the campaign. It was reported last month that Luccin was the frontrunner to take on the full-time role at the end of the season.

  • WHAT QUILL SAID

Quill expressed his excitement to take the job in a club statement: "I’m extremely excited and truly honored to get the opportunity to lead FC Dallas into the 2025 season and beyond. This club has a rich history, values player development and prioritizes competitive excellence. I’d like to thank Clark Hunt, Dan Hunt, and André Zanotta for their belief in me. I can’t wait to get started."
