Chelsea to back Enzo Maresca by splashing out £113m on Victor Osimhen and making three more key transfers

The club must adhere to Profit and Sustainability rules, necessitating player sales before the June 30 deadline to fund new acquisitions and support Maresca’s ambitious plans. The current Leicester City boss is expected to be confirmed as Chelsea’s new manager this week with an alleged five-year contract already in place.

According to The Sun, Chelsea have rekindled their interest in Osimhen, who has a £113 million ($143.49m) release clause and is expected to leave Napoli this summer. They have been tracking Osimhen for years but have yet to formalize their interest. Premier League rivals Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are also monitoring the striker. However, Osimhen does not consider Chelsea a "priority" and remains open to options, which could further complicate the process for the Blues.

Chelsea are also focussing on bringing a new goalkeeper adept at playing out from the back, a central defender, a left-back, and a striker. Neither Djordje Petrovic nor Robert Sanchez has impressed in the goalkeeper position, prompting the club to consider James Trafford, especially following Burnley's relegation from the Premier League.

Several homegrown stars are on the market, including Conor Gallagher, who has drawn interest from Aston Villa and Tottenham. Armando Broja, Ian Maatsen, and Trevoh Chalobah are also likely to be sold. However, Broja's poor loan spell with Fulham has decreased his market value, necessitating a lower asking price than the initially hoped-for £30 million.

Chalobah has received interest from Premier League clubs, though his wage demands pose a challenge. Defender Levi Colwill, another academy graduate, is admired by Liverpool, but Chelsea is reluctant to sell. However, financial pressures may force their hand if other homegrown players cannot be sold by the June 30 deadline.
