Chelsea are champions! Blues wrap up sixth-straight Women's Super League title as Sonia Bompastor continues winning culture in first season after Emma Hayes' exit

The Blues were crowned champions of England with a 1-0 victory at Manchester United, which made their nine-point lead atop the table with only two games remaining unassailable. Second-placed Arsenal were hammered 5-2 by Aston Villa earlier in the evening, opening the door for Chelsea to clinch the title earlier than had been anticipated.

Sonia Bompastor had some rather sizeable shoes to fill in the Chelsea dugout after replacing legendary manager Emma Hayes last summer, but she has delivered two trophies already, having already secured the League Cup back in March.

Chelsea still have the opportunity to end the WSL season unbeaten too having avoided defeat through 20 rounds of fixtures to this point.

Bompastor's side will look to maintain their unbeaten WSL streak against Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool in their final two WSL games, while they will also face United again next month in the FA Cup final.
