Olmo started life well at Barcelona
Withdrawn with knee injury while playing for Spain
Will return to club for assessment
WHAT HAPPENED?
Olmo started La Roja's match in Belgrade during the week but went down in pain in the 82nd minute. Clutching his knee, the attacker left the pitch leaving both Spain and Barca fans fearing the worst after his excellent performances in recent months.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
ESPN reports that the injury is not thought to be serious, but any games he may miss will be a huge loss for club and country. Olmo already missed the first two La Liga matches of the season as Barcelona could not register the former RB Leipzig man, but he scored both times he was on the pitch for the Blaugrana since then.
DID YOU KNOW?
Olmo swapped the Bundesliga for the Spanish top flight this summer after starring for his country during their run to the Euro 2024 crown. His £46 million ($61m) move has so far paid off for Barca boss Hansi Flick, who is yet to be beaten in La Liga.

WHAT NEXT FOR OLMO?
Olmo will return to Barca for some tests as medical staff look to determine the severity of his injury. Spain will have to make do without Olmo when they face Switzerland in another Nations League match on Sunday, and he could be a doubt for Barca's next league game against Girona.
