All completed Barcelona transfers so far in 2024-25

Barcelona's transfer window woes could continue into the winter transfer window as well. Financial troubles hampered their plans in the summer and the issues persist.

The Catalan giants spent the first half of the summer in a very public pursuit of Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, only to fall short of securing his signature.

The latter half of the summer saw them scrambling to trim enough expenses to register Dani Olmo with the first team.

All in all, the summer transfer window ended on a subdued note, with only two additions to the squad and a raft of departures.

With the winter transfer window open, GOAL has got you covered with a comprehensive list of all the completed Barcelona transfers in the 2024-25 season.

  • New signings winter 2025 window

Barcelona have been linked with a number of players in the January window, but progress on new signings has been slow as they continue to navigate financial constraints.

Alex Valle has secured a loan move to Serie A outfit Como for the remainder of the season.

After spending the first half of the campaign in Scotland with Celtic, the young full-back is now set for a fresh challenge under Cesc Fabregas in Italy.

Pau Victor is the young forward Barcelona boss Hansi Flick has chosen as their back-up option in the final third.

The Blaugrana also splashed the cash on Spanish winger Dani Olmo. Ansu Fati is one of the many players who have returned to the club after loan spells.

Although Barcelona's director Deco was aware that the squad lacked depth in certain areas he wanted to strengthen, the reality was that he couldn't take any action.

At that time, the Blaugrana had no 'Fair Play' margin available to make any signings.

This situation wasn’t a major surprise, considering they struggled for three weeks to register Dani Olmo and had to rely on Andreas Christensen's injury to get him enrolled in La Liga.

The Catalans had been contemplating bringing in a new centre-back following the Dane's injury, as well as a defensive midfielder to replace Marc Bernal, who was out for the season. However, with no room in the salary cap, no moves were made.

Due to delays in the agreement with Nike and the Barca Vision operation, the club was unable to make any signings.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny returned from retirement to join the Blaugrana in order to replace first choice goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

    Departures summer 2024 window

Raising funds remains a challenge for Barca. While they managed to generate €10 million each from the departures of Julian Araujo and Mikayil Faye, the inability to sell Clement Lenglet, Vitor Roque and Oriol Romeu outright - instead opting for loans - meant they couldn't significantly boost their income or fully alleviate their wage bill. The departure of young striker Marc Guiu to Chelsea for a modest €6 million ($6.6m), which matched his release clause, must have stung, although they did bring in Pau Víctor for €2 million ($2.2m) as a replacement.

Ilkay Gundogan was the most notable casualty of the Olmo signing, returning to Manchester City on a free transfer after just a year at the club. While Olmo adds attacking prowess, concerns linger over whether the lack of reinforcements in defensive midfield and at center-back will haunt Barça as the season progresses.

Marcos Alonso and Sergi Roberto left the club as free agents. Sergino Dest joined PSV on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract at Barcelona.
