Nuttall rejects ‘underrating comments’ over Bolga All Stars

Hearts of Oak manager Frank Elliott Nuttall insists his charges did not underrate Bolga All Stars following a 3-3 outcome in matchday 13 of the Ghana Premier League at the Tamale Utrecht Park on Wednesday.

Vincent Atinga gave the visitors a perfect start in the first minute but Alhassan Rahim levelled for the hosts 20 minutes later. Thomas Abbey restored Hearts' lead but goals from Rahim and Ibrahim Giyasu turned the game on its head before Alexander Kouassi made it 3-3 deep in the game to claim a point for Hearts.

“We didn’t underrate Bolga All Stars. We scored in the first 30 seconds, I think and we really pushed and we feel we should have had a penalty and if it was given, it would have been 2-0. So we were rather pushing,” Nuttall said.

“When the game was 1-1, we pushed for 2-1 and we got motivated and it was two goals each and 3-2, and we came to 3-3. And at the end of the game, we came close in getting the winner, so I don’t think anybody can say we underrate them. We didn’t, but rather played very well. We were somehow unfortunate,” he added.

Hearts are fourth on the log with 20 points, nine points behind leaders Wafa, whom they will host on May 4, when the league resumes from its one-week break.
