Merrybet defeat Nairabet to lift Akin Alabi football championship

Merrybet defeated Nairabet 3-2 on penalties to win the seven-aside football tournament to mark business magnate, Otunba Akin Alabi’s 40th birthday.

After scores stood at 0-0, kicks from the penalty spot was used to separate both teams in the breath-taking final played at Meadow Hall, Elegushi.

Multi-award winning comedian Ayo Makun (AY Show) lost the all-important kick that denied his side the giant trophy.

Coach Opeyemi Oni's Goal Nigeria put up a brilliant display but could reach the semi-final after losing 1-0 to Naijabet.
