Lokosa dreams big with Kano Pillars ahead of 2017-18 season

Kano Pillars striker Junior Lokosa says he is enthusiastic at the prospect of having his second season in the Nigeria Professional Football League, and he has set targets for himself and his club.

Lokosa was signed from second division side First Bank FC at the beginning of last season and after making an appreciable impact on his debut campaign in the topflight, the attacker is eager to move to the next level.

“It was a dream come true for me when I was signed by Pillars. I made my mark in the National League and I will say that I was not surprised that big clubs knocked on the doors of my former club. I am pleased to be here and the first day of training has been awesome,” Lokosa told Goal.

“I will say that I used last season to stabilize with Pillars being a newcomer and I hope to explode barring injuries this coming season.

“I scored some crucial goals for my team last season and I desire to get even more during the 2017-18 season.”

The striker hinted that even though he won’t be setting a certain amount of goal as target, he would like to better his last season’s mark and also ensure that Sai Masu Gida return to the pinnacle of Nigerian football.

“I won’t be setting any goal target but I will like to score lots of goals and also help my team. Part of the reasons I came to this club was because of their rich history but in recent seasons we have come short of expectations.

“We are ready to bounce back. We showed little sign of what we can achieve in the coming season with what the two pre-season tournaments that we won in Ilorin and Kano,” he noted.
