The utility man will spend some time in the treatment room after picking up an injury against Bournemouth

Following an injury setback, Leicester City defender Daniel Amartey is unavailable for selection until next month, club manager Claude Puel has revealed.

The Ghanaian picked up an injury in Saturday's Premier League clash with Bournemouth, consequently leading to his substitution in the 20th minute.

After medical examination, it has emerged that the 23-year-old would have to spend some time in the treatment room, effectively confirming him out of imminent games against West Bromwich Albion, Arsenal, Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion this month.

“Amartey will be injured,” Puel told pressmen on Thursday.

“It is a hamstring injury. Other players, like Shinji, are available and fit to come back into the squad.

“[It will be] one month [for Amartey]. He can come back after this injury.

"There is an interesting competition in the squad and players show spirit to fight for their places.”

A peripheral figure at King Power Stadium this season, Amartey has made just eight league appearances, involving six starts, so far.

He joined the Foxes from Danish outfit FC Copenhagen in January 2016, making five outings as Leicester won the league title the following May.
