Real Madrid strike early for Alphonso Davies! Los Blancos reach agreement with Bayern Munich and Canada star over future transfer

The Spanish giants are busy assembling another collection of ‘Galacticos’ at Santiago Bernabeu, with club president Florentino Perez famed for that approach to recruitment. After several years of pursuing France international Mbappe, the World Cup winner is reported to have green-lighted a switch to Madrid once he reaches the end of his contract at Paris Saint-Germain.

It may well be that he is joined in Madrid by Bayern Munich defender Davies, with The Athletic claiming that another deal is being lined up there. The flying Canadian left-back is said to have given his word to Real that he will join them at some stage in the near future.

Los Blancos have convinced Davies not to extend his current contract in Germany, which runs until 2025, meaning that Bayern may have to cash in at the next opportunity. Real are willing to wait a further 12 months and take the 23-year-old when he hits free agency if Bundesliga giants at the Allianz Arena refuse to lower their asking price in the next transfer window.

Barcelona, as well as a number of clubs in England, have been monitoring Davies’ situation, but they are set to be left disappointed. Spain is his favoured next port of call, with a new challenge ready to be embraced after making over 180 appearances for Bayern since joining them from MLS side the Vancouver Whitecaps in 2019.
