    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The Women's Super League feared that the 31-year-old could be out for a long period of time as it was thought she may have suffered anterior cruciate ligament damage, but Taylor is confident that the Lionesses star's situation is not so serious.

  • WHAT TAYLOR SAID

"I think Alex [Greenwood] will be fine," he told reporters. "Again, because I’ve been outside, I know she was being assessed by the medical team but she’s fine, I had a conversation with her and she told me she’s okay. That’s typical Alex, she’s tough in those situations and will play through the pain.

"I think the challenge she took was probably one of the first actions of the game and she lasted about 15 minutes before she felt it could be too much. We were probably looking at relieving her at half-time but took the decision a little bit earlier."
