    THE BIGGER PICTURE

However, Liverpool might not have a free run at Simakan with Serie A giants Juventus also keeping an "eye on the Frenchman". Nonetheless, Simakan might stay put if the offer does not meet his expectations. At the same time, he remains eager for a fresh challenge after spending three years at Leipzig since he joined in 2021 from Strasbourg on a six-year contract.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Leipzig, known for their savvy business in the transfer market, will be keen to maximise any deal involving one of their prized assets. It is reported that they could demand around €40-€45 million (£34m/$44m-£38m/$50m) for the player who made 42 appearances last season across all competitions, contributing three goals and four assists.

    WHAT NEXT?

While nothing is advanced or concrete at this stage, Simakan's versatility and proven track record make him a fitting candidate for the Reds. Now, it remains to be seen if Liverpool will act decisively in the final lap of the transfer window to close the deal as they are yet to make a single addition to their squad this summer.
