Liverpool player ratings vs Norwich: Diogo Jota & Darwin Nunez are an unstoppable duo! Norwich overpowered in thrilling FA Cup fourth-round tie as Reds keep marching on after Jurgen Klopp's devastating announcement

Liverpool booked their place in the fifth round of the FA Cup as they thrashed Norwich 5-2 at Anfield on Sunday, with five different players on the scoresheet. In what has been a hectic week for the club since the announcement that Jurgen Klopp will leave at the end of the season, it was business as usual on the field as they dominated from the start against the Championship side.

Thankfully, academy heroes James McConnell and Curtis Jones showed that the future is still bright for the club despite Klopp's imminent departure as the young pair combined for the Reds' first goal. McConnell sent an excellent diagonal ball towards the back post where Jones did a great job of heading beyond George Long.

Liverpool's lead did not last long as Ben Gibson met a corner and managed to divert it into the net after 22 minutes, but the home team were ahead once again six minutes later as Conor Bradley went on a dashing run down the wing after winning the ball and set up Darwin Nunez for the finish.

The hosts maintained their dominance in the second half and it was no surprise to see Jota chip in with his third goal in as many matches after running onto a long ball from Jones and smashing home. The fun did not stop there, though, as substitutes Dominik Szoboszlai and Virgil van Dijk came together to add a fourth when the former's corner found the defender for a well-taken header.

While it had been all Liverpool in the second half, Borja Sainz blasted in a gorgeous effort from distance to pull another back for Norwich, but Ryan Gravenberch piled more misery on the visitors by adding a fifth right at the end.

    Goalkeeper & Defence

    Alisson (5/10):

Could not do much to prevent either Norwich goals but will be gutted to have been beaten from distance by Sainz.

    Conor Bradley (8/10):

A superb performance with two assists! Won the ball, went on the run and set up Nunez for the finish. Teed up Gakpo shortly after but shot went wide and then lashed across goal for Gravenberch to knock it in.

    Ibrahima Konate (7/10):

Solid at the back with good tackles and strong in the air as always.

    Jarell Quansah (6/10):

Another comfortable display overall but his poor header gifted the ball to Norwich for their second goal.

    Joe Gomez (6/10):

Offered support in attack and was alert and smart in the way he defended on the left side.

    Midfield

    James McConnell (7/10):

A fantastic ball into the Norwich box to set up the opening goal.

    Ryan Gravenberch (7/10):

Should have defended the post better for Norwich's equaliser and was a bit unlucky up field despite his efforts until he diverted in from close range right at the end.

    Curtis Jones (8/10):

Found plenty of space in a dangerous area and expertly headed in the first goal. Unbelievable pass to set up Jota.

    Attack

    Diogo Jota (8/10):

Was lively throughout as he attempted to create a lot and was rewarded with a fine goal early in the second half.

    Darwin Nunez (8/10):

A big threat all the way through and unsurprisingly restored his team's lead with a fine finish.

    Cody Gakpo (6/10):

Missed a great chance to make it 3-1. Had a lot of attempts but was unlucky in his finishing.

    Virgil van Dijk (7/10):

Found loads of space and read Szoboszlai's corner perfectly before heading in.

Finally back on the field for the first time since October

    Dominik Szoboszlai (7/10):

Set up Nunez for a chance and then whipped in a deadly corner to Van Dijk.

    Trent Alexander-Arnold (6/10):

Played the last 25 minutes after a brief spell on the sidelines and was a threat.

    Luis Diaz (6/10):

Brought on for just over 10 minutes but did not have much chance to influence the game.

    Jurgen Klopp (8/10):

He can have few complaints about his team's response to his bombshell announcement just days prior. They were set up well and properly fired up in a performance that was relentless at times.
