  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Liverpool are planning an offer of £30 million (€35.1m/$41.2m) for Palace defender Guehi, according to the Daily Mail. The England international is out of contract at Selhurst Park next year and is said to favour a move to the Reds ahead of other Premier League teams.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Guehi has established himself as one of the best centre-backs in the Premier League and helped Palace win the 2024-25 FA Cup with a brilliant performance in the final against Manchester City. It's thought the Eagles value the 24-year-old around the £70m mark, but his contract situation could force the Croydon outfit to accept a fee almost half than less of their valuation.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

With Jarell Quansah due to move to Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool are in need of greater depth at centre-back. Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate was the preferred partnership during the title-winning campaign, but the Frenchman has not yet extended his own contract at Anfield, which could open up a starting spot for Guehi.

Liverpool have moved quickly to secure their targets this summer, with Milos Kerkez recently joining Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz in making the move to Merseyside, while the likes of Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott have been linked with departures.
