Lauryn Goodman sends out 'broken home' message as she opens up on saga with Man City star Kyle Walker

The former Love Island star, who now features on the E4 show ‘Celebs Go Dating’, shares two children with England international Walker – with both having been born outside of his marriage to long-time partner, and mother to four more of his kids, Annie Kilner.

Goodman has spoken of the constant “battle” that she now finds herself in, as he seeks to avoid seeing her son and daughter grow up without regular interaction with their father. She has also been keen to avoid the spread of misinformation within a protracted saga that has sparked regular war of words.

The 33-year-old is making peace with the fact that she is now a single mother, sharing a powerful post from internet personality Ellie Grey on her Instagram Stories which highlights why that can be no bad thing. The post in question starts out by saying: “A single parent house hold doesn't mean a ‘broken home’. It goes on to say: “You can have a broken home while still being with your partner. You can have two people who are together, who shouldn't be. Children can experience a 'broken home' with both parents present. Shouting, screaming, door slamming, breaking things, lack of visual love, emotional distress or just simply, not showing love and affection...that's a broken home.”

The statement adds that providing a “safe and secure home” is the most important factor for any parent and child, with Grey saying of becoming a single mum herself: “I admitted I got it wrong and walked out into a happier, more peaceful room.” Goodman is looking to heed that advice.

Goodman has claimed to be a “shell” of her former self, after being dragged into an unfortunate episode. She has no regrets at entering into an affair with Walker – which initially started during a breakdown in his marriage – and will continue to make a point of addressing any lies that are spread about her and her young family.
