'It wasn't a comfortable conversation' - Kyle Walker opens up on Man City exit talks with Pep Guardiola and admits winning the Champions League with AC Milan would be a 'dream come true'

Walker has left Manchester City during the January transfer window and completed a loan move to Serie A giants AC Milan. Guardiola had previously revealed that Walker had asked to leave the club to finish his career abroad and the full-back has now opened up on the conversation that took place between the two men.

He told a press conference: "When I spoke with Pep, it wasn't a very comfortable conversation – mainly because of the respect we have for each other. What he's won at Manchester City, I've won it too. I like to think he knows what I bring to a dressing room, the atmosphere I create. City was my family – from the cooks to the cleaners, the kit men and physios. I like to think I was liked and helped everyone blend in. But things weren't going well there and I wasn't playing enough football. Hopefully I can play a bit more here."

Walker is now hoping to add more titles to his collection at San Siro and says he would love to lift the European Cup with the Rossoneri. He added: "Obviously I spoke with Zlatan (Ibrahimovic), he explained lots of different things to me, he told me about the great things we’re trying to achieve here. We talked about the Super Cup, which was a good start. It’s not perfect in terms of the league, but there’s still a chance in the Champions League. I hope to contribute with my experience and leadership and to help Milan return to where it wants to be. Winning the Champions League would be a dream come true: I have experienced it in a great final with City.” 

Walker has taken the No. 32 shirt at Milan, in honour of David Beckham, and has already been spotted watching his new side alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He is expected to debut next month after all the paperwork relating to his transfer has been completed.
