'I hope he gives everyone a slap in the face!' - Harry Kane's former team-mate Lewis Holtby backs Bayern Munich star to end trophy drought after getting 'so much sh*t'

Much has been made of Kane’s inability to land major silverware over the course of what has been a record-breaking career. He is the all-time leading goalscorer for Tottenham and England, but has no collective honours to sit alongside individual prizes and entries in the history books.

A move to the Allianz Arena was supposed to bring that barren run to a close, but Kane ended his debut season in Germany empty-handed. He has helped Bayern to open up a nine-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga table in 2024-25.

Holtby, who is now on the books at Holstein Kiel, spent time at Spurs alongside Kane and has said of the 31-year-old frontman’s search for tangible success: “I wish the man everything in the world, he's so down to earth, works so hard and is a team player. He gets so much sh*t because he didn't win a title. I hope he finally wins something this year and gives everyone a slap in the face.”

Kane has hit 26 goals through 27 appearances for Bayern this season, taking him to 70 efforts in total for the German giants. He is also chasing down Champions League glory, with Scottish title holders Celtic next on the European agenda in the knockout play-off phase.
