Have Bayern Munich finally found their man?! German giants turn back to Champions League-winning Hansi Flick in desperate search for Thomas Tuchel's replacement

Flick could be heading for a second spell with Bayern Munich after opening talks with the Bavarian giants, according to The Athletic. Bayern have already missed out on Xabi Alonso, Julian Nagelsmann and even Ralf Rangnick when it comes to finding a replacement for Tuchel but are now discussing a possible move with Flick. The 59-year-old has been out of work since being fired as Germany boss in 2023 and was linked with a move to Barcelona until Xavi confirmed he would stay on for another season.

Flick won the treble in his first season with Bayern in 2019-20. He then won a second Bundesliga title before moving on to the Germany national team. However, Flick struggled in his new role and became the first Germany manager ever to be sacked after a defeat to Japan last year. If Flick does return to Bayern he will be tasked with regaining the Bundesliga title after Die Roten lost their crown this season to Bayer Leverkusen.

Flick won 70 of his 86 games in charge of Bayern during his stint as manager. After taking over the Germany national team, he only managed 12 victories from 25 games.

Bayern's midweek Champions League exit to Real Madrid means the Bavarians have nothing but pride to play for in the final week of the season. They finish their campaign with games against Wolfsburg and Hoffenheim and will then wave goodbye to Tuchel.
