Chelsea make surprise move for Crouch


Chelsea have inquired into the availability of Stoke City striker Peter Crouch, according to the Telegraph.

The Blues were in for West Ham's Andy Carroll, but an ankle injury could keep the striker out for months and has ended any possibility of a move. 

And so Chelsea have made a surprise overture to Stoke for the former England striker, who turns 37 this month.

Andy Carroll's potential move to Chelsea is off after the West Ham striker was diagnosed with an ankle injury, according to the  Telegraph .

The 29-year-old was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, but is now expected to be out for between four to six weeks and could miss up to four months if surgery is required.


Batshuayi fears Carroll injury may block his exit

Michy Batshuayi fears that a reported serious injury to Andy Carroll will put an end to his hopes of leaving Chelsea on loan. 

The scarcely used striker hoped that a loan move to Sevilla or Dortmund would boost his chances of making Belgium's World Cup squad, but the Blues won't allow Batshuayi to leave without a replacement arriving.

Chelsea considering Dzeko bid

Chelsea are weighing up a move for Roma's former Manchester City striker Edin Dezko, claims Mediaset Premium .

The Blues are in talks with the Serie A outfit over a possible deal for Brazilian full-back Emerson and have also asked about Dzeko - who netted 29 times in the Italian top-flight last season.

The Brazilian forward is the Blancos' main target, with the Bayern and Chelsea stars also wanted. 

Madrid's terrible run of form has the club looking to rebuild, with Hazard and Neymar central to plans. Harry Kane and Mauro Icardi are the other forwards being discussed if the club can't land Lewandowski, who will be 30 in August.

Chelsea are set to try and sign Tottenham striker Fernando Llorente for the second time this season, according to  The Independent .

The Blues missed out on Llorente as he left Swansea City for Spurs on deadline day of the summer transfer window, but Antonio Conte remains a fan.

And the former Juventus boss is hopeful Llorente can be tempted across London to join the Premier League champions in January.


'Carroll is not the answer'

West Ham want Batshuayi in Carroll deal

West Ham want Michy Batshuayi to be included in any deal that would see Andy Carroll joining Chelsea, according to the  Daily Telegraph .

The Blues had hoped to bring the England international to Stamford Bridge on a loan deal, but the Irons insist they are only interested in letting Carroll go on a permanent basis.

They would listen to offers of £20 million plus Batshuayi on loan for the former Liverpool man, though both Sevilla and Borussia Dortmund have also registered an interest in the Belgium international.


Chelsea not in running to sign Alexis

Chelsea are not in the running to sign Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.

The Blues have decided not to rival Manchester United for the Chile international, who interested Manchester City prior to them pulling the plug on interest of their own.

Alexis is understood to want between £350,000-£400,000-per-week to leave the Gunners, and Chelsea have baulked at the costs involved in pursuing the 29-year-old.

Borussia Dortmund have targeted Michy Batshuayi as the man to replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should he move to Arsenal in January, Bild reports.

Although the German side had intended to hold onto Aubameyang until the end of the season, the Gunners are pushing to sign him this month, forcing Dortmund to look at potential successors. With Chelsea willing to let Batshuayi go, Dortmund could be able to land the Belgium international to lead their attack.
