Orlando Pirates are out to make it two-out-of-two when they visit Stellenbosch for Wednesday's Premier Soccer League clash at Danie Craven Stadium.

Smart from edging Swallows 1-0 last Saturday, the Buccaneers will be hoping for another win to further set the tonic for 28 more league assignments.

Their opponents Stellenbosch are looking for the first set of three points of the season after they drew 0-0 with Marumo Gallants last weekend.

This is how GOAL thinks the Buccaneers will line up on Wednesday.

Having returned to full fitness Ofori is now back to his best self.

He will be keen to stay on top of his game and become Ghana's number one goalkeeper at the upcoming Fifa World Cup.

  • Thabiso Monyane, Orlando Pirates, August 2022Backpagepix

    RIGHT-BACK - Thabiso Monyane

Monyane was a surprise starter in the last game against Swallows ahead of Bandile Shandu.

The 22-year-old was in top form, sending a statement that threatens to make it hard for Shandu to come back.

  • Deon Hotto, Orlando Pirates, November 2021Backpagepix

    LEFT-BACK - Deon Hotto

Pirates coach Jose Riveiro has come in with some changes that appear radical including benching Paseka Mako.

A few expected Hotto to play as a left-back although he received some back-up from Innocent Maela who was on the extreme left of a three-man central defensive set-up.

    CENTRE-BACK - Innocent Maela

Maela's reign as Pirates captain got off to a good start as the Buccaneers managed to keep a clean sheet against Swallows.

The Bafana defender would be hoping his leadership skills will continue inspiring the Soweto giants.

  • Nkosinathi Sibisi, Bafana Bafana, June 2021Backpagepix

    CENTRE-BACK - Nkosinathi Sibisi

The ex-Golden Arrows man was named Man-of-the-Match after the Swallows game and that was a dream start to life at Pirates.

That was also enough inspiration for another solid performance at the back against Stellenbosch and going further forward.

  • Olisa Ndah, Orlando Pirates, September 2021Backpagepix

    CENTRE-BACK - Olisa Ndah

Another player who surprisingly started from the bench in the Original Soweto Derby, Ndah came on to help Pirates hold on to their lead as Swallows searched for an equaliser.

The Nigeria international is expected to start on Wednesday.

  • Thabang Monare, Orlando Pirates, August 2022Backpagepix

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Thabang Monare

Monare picked up from where he left off last season and proved Pirates would have made a mistake had he not been recalled after they offloaded the linkman.

  • Goodman Mosele, Orlando Pirates, August 2022Backpagepix

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Goodman Mosele

He operated in central midfield with Monare last season and would be keen to have their partnership improve.

Mosele goes forward more than Monare and he can chip in with a goal or assist.

  • Kabelo Dlamini, Orlando Pirates, November 2021Backpagepix

    RIGHT MIDFIELDER - Kabelo Dlamini

A player not much talked about but very effective on his day especially now that Shandu is a threat to his position.

Right-back Shandu was being played on the right-side of midfield in the final matches of last season and Riveiro could permanently move him there since Monyane is back in the picture.

  • Thembinkosi Lorch, Orlando Pirates, August 2022Backpagepix

    LEFT-MIDFIELFER - Thembinkosi Lorch

Lorch ended last season in top form and appeared to have continued from there against Swallows.

He could be troublesome for Stellenbosch on Wednesday if he maintains his good form.

  • Bienvenu Eva Nga, Orlando Pirates, August 2022Backpagepix

    CENTRE-FORWARD - Bienvenu Eva Nga

The Cameroonian grabbed the goal that separated Pirates and Swallows in what was a good debut outing for him.

But he was guilty of missing a gluttony of chances and that invited some booing from the stands.

He would be hoping not to be wasteful again but make use of any scoring opportunities.
