Kamaldeen Sulemana FC Nordsjaelland 2020-21
Goal assesses the performances of CK Akonnor's men in their slim win over the Walias in Cape Coast

  • Richard Ofori, Orlando Pirates, October 2020

    Richard Ofori Antwi - 5.5

The Orlando Pirates man was barely tested on the day but stepped up well on the few occasions he was called into action.

  • Andy Yiadom Ghana Africa Cup of Nations 2019

    Andy Yiadom - 5.5

The Reading right-back was a hardworking presence in Ghana's defence. Defended well and made forays into attack but struggled to link up well with Kamaldeen Sulemana on the right.

  • Baba Rahman of Ghana Africa Cup of Nations 2019.

    Abdul Rahman Baba - 5

With Ethiopia sitting back for the most part, the reading left-back made a lot of attacking runs but looked lacklustre and lacked ideas on most occasions he charged forward.

  • Daniel Amartey of Ghana

    Daniel Amartey - 6

Controlled the back well in central defence until a second-half hamstring injury seemingly slowed down his game. Still, he lasted the entire duration of the game.
  • Alexander Djiku Strasbourg 2021-22

    Alexander Djiku - 6.5

Put up a commanding show in a centre-back partnership with Amartey, stepping out with the ball into midfield whenever he had the opportunity.
  • Mubarak Wakaso, Referee, Ghana

    Mubarak Wakaso - 5

Was his usual feisty self in tackles, giving away fouls in dangerous areas, in addition to what was a sluggish day of passing. Was far from his best in connecting defence to attack. His saving grace was his match-winning goal, which probably had more to do with a sleeping goalkeeper.

  • Iddrisu Mohammed Baba Real Mallorca 2019-20

    Mohammed Iddrisu Baba - 5.5

Discharged his defensive duties well in his double pivot with Wakaso in midfield but failed in helping out in moving the ball out from the back, leaving Ethiopia to eventually take control.
  • Kamaldeen Sulemana Stade Rennes 2021-22

    Kamaldeen Sulemana - 5

Was a generally quiet day for the Rennes attacker who began brightly on the right wing but failed to build up on his good start as the game wore on. Struggled to connect well with right-back Yiadom and was replaced by Yaw Yeboah in the second half.
  • Jeffrey Schlupp Crystal Palace 2021-22

    Jeffrey Schlupp - 4.5

It was another day to forget for the Crystal Palace man in a Ghana shirt as a seeming thigh injury brought an end to his time on the pitch in just the 23rd minute. Looked unsettled for the time that he played.

  • Andre Ayew - Ghana

    Andre Ayew - 5

Playing in a front two, the Al Sadd man did not look his sharpest self against the Walias as he was found wanting on the few occasions he was in position to score.
  • Jordan Ayew, Ghana

    Jordan Ayew - 5

Missed a few chances to get on the score sheet. A switch from striker to winger saw little change in output as he appeared to spend too much time on the ball when he should be playing with his man.
  • Daniel Kofi Kyereh St. Pauli 2021-22

    Daniel-Kofi Kyereh - 5

Had a slow start on the occassion of his international debut when he replaced Schlupp in the first half. Showed moments of brilliance with some touches but his lack of confidence on the day showed up in some big moments when he could have taken the game by the scruff of the neck.
  • Yaw Yeboah of Ghana

    Yaw Yeboah - 5.5

Injected more pace into Ghana's attack from the right wing when he replaced Kamaldeen Sulemana. Tested the Ethiopian goalkeeper with a good shot from range.
  • Emmanuel Lomotey

    Emmanuel Lomotey - 5

Replaced Wakaso in the second half to shove up what was a light Ghana midfield but his presence yielded little as the visitors charged on.
  • Joel Fameyeh Ghana U23

    Joel Fameyeh - Not rated

Came on for Jordan Ayew on the stroke of full-time and had no time to make any meaningful impact.
