The Premier Soccer League (PSL) announced the draw for the 2018/19 Telkom Knockout Cup tournament on Monday night which is set to get underway later this month.
With the PSL campaign in full swing and the MTN8 Cup done and dusted, the TKO Cup tournament is set to take the centre stage and all the 16 teams battle it out for the ultimate prize money.
Defending champions Bidvest Wits , who defeated Bloemfontein Celtic in the KwaZulu-Natal province last season, will hope to succesffully defend their crown.
PSL's Luxolo September and officials from the sponsors, Telkom, conducted the draw live from the SuperSport studios in Randburg, Johannesburg.
Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Maritzburg United, Cape Town City, Free State Stars, SuperSport United and Arrows were the seeded teams after finishing in the top eight last season.
Moreover, the likes of AmaZulu, Chippa United, Bloemfontein Celtic, Polokwane City, Bidvest Wits, Baroka FC, Highlands Park and Black Leopards completed the list of the unseeded teams.
In the opening round of 16, coach Gavin Hunt's men will face off against Free State Stars, who are coached by Belgian mentor Luc Eymael.
Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will all be at home in the opening round.
Micho Sredojevic's men will take on Chippa United, while Amakhosi will battle it out against Black Leopards with Sundowns taking on Bloemfontein Celtic in the other match.
The dates and venues for the Last 16 will be announced by the PSL in due course.
