Robert Matano blame slow start for Western Stima defeat

Robert Matano suffered his first defeat as AFC Leopards coach against Western Stima in the Kenyan Premier League on Saturday.

Ingwe came into the match as favourites considering their opponents have struggled in the league this season, but a first half goal from Ezekiel Otuoma ensured the twelve times league champions went home empty handed.

The former Ulinzi Stars tactician says his team had a slow start that cost them. "Well, I think we were unlucky against them (Stima) especially in the second half. We created a number of chances but we did not take them. The first half was bad, we did not click at all, no chances created.

"I can say we were unlucky not to get something from the match. Now we are focusing on our next match where we are going for nothing less than three points," Matano told Goal.

AFC Leopards are 11th on the Kenyan Premier League log with 19 points after playing 17 matches.
