Polokwane City is a must win match, says Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane

Mamelodi Sundowns are scheduled to take on Polokwane City on Tuesday night.

The Brazilians’ Premier Soccer League(PSL) campaign has stagnated of late as Sundowns have failed to win their last two league matches.

Following Msandawana’s goalless draw to Chippa United, Sundowns suffered a defeat at the hands of fellow title contenders Cape Town City.

While Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane brushed of the loss in Cape Town, he has stated that victory against Rise and Shine is of the utmost importance.

The Tshwane giants are continually playing catch up this season and despite the advantage of having games in hand over the rest of the leading pack they cannot afford to stumble.

“It’s a big game,” coach Pitso Mosimane told the Cape Times.

“We have to win this game because games in hand aren’t anything even though other people (at the top) are also not winning consistently. I told you that we might stumble but who is winning (consistently)?

“SuperSport (United) isn’t winning. (Orlando) Pirates and (Kaizer) Chiefs didn’t win (in their last league game). Wits didn’t win (their last league game). We are still okay.”

“We will not make many changes against Polokwane,” Mosimane said.

“We will field a strong team. It’s just that (Tiyani) Mabunda has been struggling with his shoulder. So maybe we should save him for Kampala. We can bring Lucky (Mohomi) back or Teko (Modise).

“We’ve got options,” Mosimane concluded.
