'He’s making me work harder' - Alalade welcomes Adetunji’s competition at Enyimba

Wasiu Alalade insists he is not competing with Enyimba’s new signing Sunday Adetunji as he vows to work harder to play regularly for the team.

Adetunji joined the People Elephants from Abia Warriors in July and made his competitive debut in the People’s Elephants’ 1-0 win away at Djoliba in Bamako last Sunday.

Instead of being threatened, the former ABS forward is pleased with the quality of the new striker to the team and looks forward to a good partnership for the club’s success remains paramount.

“I am happy with the coming of [Adetunji] Sunday as it has given us good depth and quality as a team,” Alalade told Goal.

“As a big club like Enyimba - we always want to challenge for major trophies. It’s good that we have good players to achieve. I hope we continue to bond well and bring the best out of ourselves.

“I must say that Adetunji has brought a lot of competition to the team and he is making me work harder in fighting my place in the team. I am not worried about his presence at all than to just be focused and give my best at all times to play more regularly.

“Sunday is like a brother from another mother and I am not interested in any competition with him aside from seeing how we could work together to kelp the team succeeds. That's what matters."
