Chippa United sign Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Julies

Chippa United have reportedly signed Samuel Julies from Mamelodi Sundowns.

The attacking midfielder made his professional debut during the 2011/12 season after being promoted from the Sundowns academy.

However, Julies found it difficult to establish himself in the star-studded Sundowns starting line-up down the years.

Last season, the left-footed player made only PSL appearances as Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane rested his key players.

Recent reports have indicated that Julies has joined Chippa on a permanent deal after his Sundowns contract expired at the end of last month.

Between 2013 and 2015, the Kimberley-born player was out on loan at National First Divsion (NFD) side Stellenbosch FC, who were known as Vasco Da Gama.

Julies was recalled by Sundowns prior to the 2015/16 season and he played regularly for the club's reserve team in the Multichoice Diski Challenge (MDC).

He made nine PSL appearances for Sundowns - netting once in the process which was against Frree State Stars in 2012.
