Tiemoue Bakayoko admits he will be “disappointed” if Antonio Conte parts company with Chelsea this summer.
Speculation continues to suggest that the Italian’s days at Stamford Bridge are numbered, with his side having staged a forgettable defence of the Premier League title secured in his debut campaign.
A top-four finish may even be beyond the dethroned champions, with the Blues needing to beat Newcastle on the final day and rely on Brighton stunning Liverpool in order to secure Champions League qualification.
Conte has endeavoured to steer around the talk of what his future might hold, but a man snapped up by the former Juventus boss for £40 million ($54m) in the summer of 2017 is hoping he will stay put.
Bakayoko, who has endured a difficult introduction to English football, told Sky Sports on the rumours surrounding his manager: "I don't really pay attention to that.
"He's never said that he might leave and he's always extremely focused on winning, on doing well in the season.
"As a player, I would be disappointed [if he leaves]. We all like working with the coach and having this relationship in the long-term.
"I've been working with him for a year and I've progressed a lot under him but it's really up to the club management, up to him and his entourage but he hasn't said anything."
Conte remains contracted to Chelsea for another 12 months, so could stay on for the 2018-19 campaign.
He has, however, been linked with several posts elsewhere, while those at Stamford Bridge are said to be mulling over moves for the likes of Massimiliano Allegri and Diego Simeone.
