Saturday's derby against Atletico Madrid, the Champions League quarter-finals against Bayern Munich and the league Clasico with Barcelona on April 23 all take place during Varane's recovery period.

The news comes as a big blow for Los Blancos. Varane has been a first-team regular this season when fit, playing 32 games in all competitions and scoring four goals.
