FAM Cup side Petaling Jaya Rangers are not leaving anyting to chance. Although they are currently leading Group B of the competition with one game in hand, they have been busy preparing for the second half of the season.

Over the past week, the club have been busy signing forwards from clubs competing in the Malaysia Super League, the country's top tier.

Last Sunday, the Rangers announced the loan signing of 24-year old striker Arip Amiruddin from PKNS FC.

And on Thursday, they announced the arrival of 22-year old striker Akmal Ishak from Melaka United, as well as Felda United's youth striker Abdul Azim Rahim. The former is also a loan signing.

The reason behind the signings of the three forwards? Despite leading one of the two groups, their current goal tally in the season; nine goals is relatively low.

Interestingly, their goal count is similar to that of two sides currently placed sixth and last in Group A; DBKL and KDMM FC, and current fifth-placed Group B team; Kuching FA.

Luckily for the Rangers, they have the best defensive record in the competition currently; having conceded only three goals in seven matches. They are also the only FAM Cup side to not have been beaten in the competition.

This Sunday they will face third-placed Terengganu City at home, the MBPJ Stadium, with kick-off at 4.45 pm.
