Chandler has yet to play for Bruce Arena's team, as he previously missed two U.S. World Cup qualifiers after a suspension left him unavailable for the initial contest. The defender would have likely been in the mix with DeAndre Yedlin and Jorge Villafana for a starting fullback spot in the upcoming games against Trinidad and Tobago and Mexico.

The 27-year-old defender is coming off a strong season in the Bundesliga, making 31 starts for Frankfurt in the league and notching three assists from a wing-back role. He also started four games during the DFB-Pokal during his side's run to the final.

No replacement was named to the squad, leaving it at 26 players. In addition to Yedlin and Villafana, Graham Zusi, Tim Ream, Fabian Johnson and Geoff Cameron all have experience at the fullback position.

The U.S. will face Venezuela in a friendly June 3, before a showdown with Trinidad and Tobago on June 8 and a trip to the Estadio Azteca to battle Mexico on June 11.
