Sofapaka recover to shock visiting Zoo Kericho at Narok

Zoo Kericho failed to hold onto their lead as Sofapaka fought hard to ensure they bag all the three points on Saturday.

It was the 2009 league champions, who started the match well, creating several chances that were not taken, notably by Umaru Kasumba , who forgot his scoring boots at home.

It turned out to be costly a few minutes later. 2017 Most Valuable Player Michael Madoya set the ball rolling in the 11th minute after finishing off an Isaac Kipyegon pass.

The goal was a wake up call for the John Baraza led side and they reacted five minutes later. Sofapaka won a corner and it was taken by Rodgers Aloro .

Humphrey Okoti was in thr right place to level matters.  Dennis Chetambe thought he had hit the target in the 25th minute after spotting goalkeeper Mathias Kigonya out of position, but his shot missed by inches.

Sofapaka continued pushing for the winner after the break and were rewarded in the 55th minute. Former Ulinzi Stars man Stephen Waruru headed home a Teddy Osok cross to help his side get the vital win.

The three points send Sofapaka top the fourth position with twenty four points, while Zoo Kericho languish in the 14th position with fifteen points.
