Simba SC shifts focus on former Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed

Former Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed is on the radar of Tanzania Premier League champions Simba SC.

Simba has so far snatched Meddie Kagere from K’Ogalo and the reigning TPL champions have now turned their hunting fortune on free-agent Mohammed.

The former K'Ogalo skipper is also in the list of a number of teams from Zambia, including Nkana FC and Kabwe Warriors.

Simba are in the market for a defender to replace Juuko Murshid, who has since left the club.

According to reports from Tanzania, Simba first made contact with Mohammed in December 2017 during the Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup where he captained Kenyan to a top podium finish.

The former KF Tirana defender is expected to touch down in Tanzania for talks after terminating his contract with the Albanian side two months ago.

“Plans are in place to sign him (Mohammed) after we made contact him in advance. We have three names for that position and any of them can be signed,” Simba SC official was quoted by Mwanaspoti.

Mohammed is currently in Zambia and could sign for either Nkana of Kabwe Warriors if Simba drags their feet.
