Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Marco Reus will be sidelined until April due to a thigh injury.
The German outfit have confirmed that the player has suffered a muscle rupture in his left thigh and will be sidelined for at least a month.
It is the latest blow in a season of setbacks for the former Borussia Monchengladbach attacker, who missed much of the early part of the campaign because of a groin problem.
He has only managed to play 11 times for Dortmund in the league, and that has not helped their challenge for the title, which alread seems to be over as they trail leaders Bayern Munich by 13 points with 11 games remaining.
"This is sad news, he's been playing at a high level for weeks. That is a huge loss for us that definitely clouds this victory," the coach said.
Nevertheless, Dortmund coped well without Reus on Saturday, as they ran out 6-2 winners in a thrilling encounter, with four of their goals arriving in the second half.
