Pahang defeated Selangor 2-0 in their Malaysia Cup Group D match on Saturday, in a repeat of their FA Cup final clash early last month. Find out who performed in the encounter at the Shah Alam Stadium.

Goals scored in the Selangor vs Pahang match

SELANGOR

Norazlan Razali - 6/10

The custodian could not do much on a night that his defence were simply overwhelmed by the Pahang attackers.

Kannan Kalaiselvan - 5/10

Just like in the FA Cup final early last month, the left back struggled to keep Mohamadou Sumareh in check.

Willian Pacheco - 6/10

The Brazilian centre back returned to the starting line-up for the first time in over a month, and helped keep the visitors from scoring more than two goals.

Alfonso de la Cruz - 6/10

The Spanish centre back worked hard to keep Sumareh, Austin Amutu and Norshahrul Idlan Talaha out of the penalty area.

Razman Roslan - 5/10

Playing in the right back position, the veteran defender failed to cover the flank.

Saiful Ridzuwan Selamat - 5/10

The midfielder was not able to help his side take control of the middle of the park, made a number of errors, and was booked early in the match for a foul.

Abdul Halim Zainal - 5/10

The midfielder melted into the background, and was taken off at the hour mark.

Joseph Kalang Tie - 6/10

The former Pahang man, playing as a winger, wasn't as lively as he surely would have liked to be, but made one good attempt towards the end of the first half.

Sean Eugene Selvaraj - 5/10

The winger had a quiet night and was substituted off just before the hour mark.

Rufino Segovia - 6/10

The Spanish striker worked hard all night, collecting the ball from the midfield himself when the midfielders were ineffective, but ultimately could not find the back of the net.

Amri Yahyah - 5/10

The veteran player had a poor night in attack, struggling to receive and provide support to his teammates.

Substitutions :

Faizzudin Abidin - 5/10

The young midfielder came on in the second half, showed some promise, but ultimately could not do much.

Shahrul Igwan Samsudin - 5/10

The winger came on in the second half, but could not help the hosts attack more.

Sarkunan Krishnansamy - NA

Late substitution

PAHANG

Helmi Eliza Elias - 7/10

The goalkeeper wasn't tested too often, but when he was he rose to the occassion confidently to collect another clean sheet.

Zubir Azmi - 7/10

The left back had a relatively quiet night, due to the fact that the hosts weren't effective in attack.

Muslim Ahmad - 9/10 (Man of the Match)

The former Malaysia centre back had an outstanding night both in defence and attack. He protected Helmi by keeping out Rufino, but also had a hand in both Pahang goals, on a night that their foreign attackers were given the bulk of the Selangor defenders' attention. He rose the highest to head in the opener, and later provided the assist to their second.

Afif Amiruddin - 7/10

The centre back returned to the starting line-up following a lengthy injury, and gave a good account of himself, helping Muslim keeping it airtight in defence.

Matthew Davies - 8/10

The right back was not troubled much in the match, and was able to provide more overlapping runs down his flank.

Azam Azih - 8/10

The midfielder made sure that the battle in the middle of the park was won by the Elephants, and even bagged an assist.

Safuwan Baharudin - 7/10

The Singapore midfielder supported Azam well in midfield, but also ended up with a booking for a needless challenge.

Norshahrul Idlan Talaha - 7/10

The former Malaysia striker had a relatively quiet night and missed a number of chances to score, but still managed to come away with one goal.

Issey Nakajima-Farran - 6/10

Missed a sitter in the first half, but did not get to redeem himself, as he had to be substituted off just before halftime due to a hamstring injury.

Austin Amutu - 6/10

The Nigerian forward was dangerous in attack, but was unable to convert the possession into a goal.

Mohamadou Sumareh - 8/10

Sumareh again troubled the Selangor defence like he did in the FA Cup final, which in turn dragged the hosts' midfielders and attackers down in support, which mean they could not push up in attack as often as they surely had liked to.

Substitutions:

Wan Zaharulnizam Zakaria - 6/10

Coming on just before halftime for Nakajima-Farran, the diminutive winger had a quiet night.

Salomon Raj Adaickalam, Zuhair Aizat Nazri - NA

Late substitutions.
