Platinum Stars plot permanent transfer of Mkhabela from Kaizer Chiefs

Goal can exclusively reveal that Platinum Stars are planning to buy Enocent Mkhabela out of his contract at Kaizer Chiefs.

The utility player has had a slow start to his loan spell at Dikwena with just three appearances to his name since joining the club during the January transfer window.

However, Cavin Johnson is believed to be impressed with what Mkhabela has had to offer so far, and he's made recommedations to the management to sign him.

According to a source close to the player, Stars could make their intentions known to Amakhosi in the coming weeks.

"The technical team has indicated that they want him to stay beyond June this year, and they have made that recommedation to the management," the source told Goal.

"As you know, these things are not publicised until a deal is struck, but Stars could open talks with Chiefs before the end of the season," the source said.

Mkhabela his Dikwena 'debut' at the beginning of March against Chippa United, and played the entire 90 minutes as they beat Golden Arrows 2-0 on March 7.

He also featured for 90 minutes in Dikwena's 3-2 win over AmaZulu in the Nedbank Cup Last 32 match last week Wednesday.

Mkhabela was not registered for the Caf Confederation Cup, and as a result, he missed the two-legged tie against Vipers SC.
