Niger’s goalkeeper Kassaly Daouda to save Salah penalties

The Menas goalkeeper spoke of his satisfaction at having denied the Liverpool star twice from the penalty spot in his team's 6-0 defeat to Egypt

Kassaly Daouda is on cloud nine having saved Mohamed Salah’s penalties in Niger Republic 6-0 defeat to Egypt on Saturday.

The 35-year-old custodian parried away the Liverpool star’s attempt in the first minute before repeating same feat in the 29th minute.

Despite his side’s annihilation at the Borg El Arab Stadium, the goalkeeper feels satisfied denying the reigning African Player of the Year.

“I have entered history with two penalties against Salah,” he said after the game.

“Despite the success of Salah in the second kick, I am very happy with what I did.

“I will be proud and honored to be successful in front of my children.”

Daouda would be hoping to impress when Niger Republic travel north to face Tunisia on October 10.

The Menas sit at the base of Group J with no point from two games enroute Cameroon 2019.
