Nigeria not afraid of Argentina, says Shehu Abdullahi

Shehu Abdullahi says Nigeria 'are not afraid of any team' including Argentina whom they battle in a crucial last-16 tie at the Saint Petersburg Stadium on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old defender who made his World Cup debut in the Super Eagles' 2-0 loss to Croatia in Kaliningrad is confident they can upstage Jorge Sampaoli’s men to secure their place in in the knockout stages.

“We've got a great confidence from our win against Iceland and that's given us a lot of motivation as a team,” Abdullahi told Goal.

“We are not afraid of any team but we have to just go all out and get the job done against Argentina. This is a different game from what we had the last time.

“Argentina is a very attacking team and are not defensive minded. I believe the coach knows the tactics to adopt and the best way to approach the game.”
