Football Kenya Federation President Nick Mwendwa has revealed that Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka have until June 2017 to ensure they fully comply with club licensing requirements.
The two teams had been relegated by the federation, but successfully appealed the decision through Sports Disputes Tribunal. Mwendwa is however keen on streamlining the game and says clubs must be run professionally.

"Yes, I’m happy that Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka are back in the top tier, and have been cleared to play. But it does not mean that we will relax, no, the process is ongoing.
"The two teams have until June to fully comply with the club licensing requirements, and if they do not, then we might be forced to take action. As a federation, we are keen on helping the game grow, and players benefit."
