Move over Daniel Arzani: Australian talent Leo Mazis shines for Celtic

Ask any Australian football fan about our local talent at Celtic, and immediately Tom Rogic and Daniel Arzani are mentioned.

Rogic is an established first-team star at the club, while Arzani has impressed in their academy team as he continues to develop.

The Canberra-born midfielder scored within five minutes after coming off the bench in his most impressive display since joining Celtic in February.

Mazis has been pushed down the Celtic youth pecking order after the arrival of Arzani, and with the Manchester City-owned player on national duty with the Socceroos, the forgotten midfielder got an opportunity he otherwise might not have got.

Arzani will have returned from the Middle East by the time Celtic's academy play their next match on October 23, but Mazis may have earned himself an opportunity to step up alongside Australia's most promising talent.
