Mbappe, Gabriel Jesus and Dembele make Golden Boy final three

The final three players for the prestigious Golden Boy award have been named, with Kylian Mbappe, Gabriel Jesus and Ousmane Dembele all making the cut.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport had initially named a 24-man shortlist for the prize, but the likes of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford and Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic are now out of the running.

Instead, Paris Saint-Germain's Mbappe continues to head the field, having completed a loan move from Monaco in the summer after helping the Stade Louis II side to the semi-finals of the Champions League and the French title.

He is expected to complete a permanent move to the capital next summer for a fee of €160 million, rising to €180m with bonuses.

France international team-mate Dembele, meanwhile, has already completed a giant move of his own, heading to Barcelona in the summer for €105m before additional payments, though the man signed by the Camp Nou outfit to replace Neymar is on the sidelines with a long-term hamstring problem. He hopes to be back in action early in 2018.

Rounding up the trio is Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus, who has made a profound impact since breaking into Pep Guardiola's side. He is already considered on an equal footing with Sergio Aguero and has six Premier League goals in seven appearances this season.
