Ingwe coach Robert Matano has revealed to Goal that the match against K’Ogalo has got nothing special and that they will use it to gauge players’ preparedness ahead of the new season.
“It a game like any other and not a do or die fixture for us. It is a pre-season fixture and we will approach it that way. We are preparing the team for the season and the match is good for us.”
"We will play to win but if we don’t then that is football. Our main aim is to use the match to check the fitness of our players.
“Remember we just started training the other day and players are not fit enough to kick-off the season and that is why the match will be very essential to us. History will not be at stake here, we just want to play and enjoy ourselves on Sunday.”
The Super Cup is the curtain raiser for the Kenyan Premier League which will kick-off on February 3. Both AFC Leopards and Gor Mahia will also represent Kenya in Caf competitions this year.
