Lampard explains Rudiger absence from Chelsea squad
Frank Lampard has played down speculation linking Antonio Rudiger with a move away from the club, despite leaving the defender out of his squad for Sunday’s clash with Liverpool.
The Germany international was a notable absentee from Lampard’s 23-man squad list for Sunday’s game at Stamford Bridge, with Kurt Zouma and Andreas Christensen named in the starting XI and Fikayo Tomori and club captain Cesar Azpilicueta among the substitutes.
With new signing Thiago Silva not yet match fit it was Rudiger who was the man to miss out, sparking speculation he could be on the brink of a transfer away from west London.
Atletico in Torreira talks
The Gunners are keen to offload the Uruguayan, who wants to leave the Emirates, before reviving moves for Atletico's Thomas Partey and Lyon's Houssem Aouar.
The London club would prefer a permanent move for Torreira, though Atletico want to sign the 24-year-old on loan with the option to buy.
Roma consider Jovic as Milik alternative
Paulo Fonseca's side have been in talks with Napoli over a deal for Milik for several weeks but have yet to reach an agreement, a delay which is also holding up Edin Dzeko's proposed move from the capital to Juventus.
